When your born and raised in Hawaii, making leis is a privilege taught to every grade school child. As an adopted child, I missed learning this skill from my Hawaiian family. Me and my family moved from hawaii to the utah and just one year was all it took for me to miss home, and with that longing I reached back to my roots and learned to make all of my favorite local meals. I began suggesting things like boys’ day, a Japanese holiday widely celebrated in Hawaii and another one of my fondest of Hawaii’s social culture. As my child aged i began making leis for his celebrations and teachers. It’s something I particularly enjoy doing and what an honor it is to be part of your special occasions—thank you for visiting.
